Sodeshi Rice Terraces

Rice terraces step down toward a coastal village and the Sea of Japan. Water-filled fields can reflect the evening sky around planting season. These are working private fields: admire them from permitted roads, never enter paddies or park on the road.

Current visiting conditions

These are working private paddies. Do not enter fields or park on the roadside. The May 2024 photograph does not establish current water, crops or sunset. The tourism website was under maintenance at the latest check; recheck access before travelling.

Getting there

From Kyoto Tango Railway Amino Station, selected Tango Kairiku Kotsu coastal buses serve Sodeshi. The 1 April 2026 weekday timetable includes an approximately 58-minute through journey. Check your day and return service; this is not the duration of every departure.
