Before you go

  • Nankai serves the Namba direction.
  • HARUKA serves Tennoji, Osaka, Shin-Osaka and Kyoto: selected destinations, not a complete stop list.
  • Check limited-express ticket conditions; IC balance alone is not a universal ticket.
Two operators, different journeys

JR-WEST and Nankai both serve Kansai Airport Station. For Namba, look at Nankai’s services. For Tennoji, Osaka, Shin-Osaka or Kyoto, compare the relevant JR-WEST service. The Kansai-Airport Rapid and HARUKA are different services; do not treat their stopping patterns or ticket requirements as interchangeable.

Check what your ticket includes

HARUKA requires the applicable basic fare and limited-express entitlement. Rapi:t also has limited-express ticket conditions. A ticket product may combine these elements, so this does not necessarily mean carrying two paper tickets. Check the exact product, seat conditions and validity before boarding.

Compare the whole journey

Include the connection from your arrival station to your accommodation. A familiar train name is less useful than a route that reaches the station you need. Current fares, timetables and product eligibility belong on the operators’ websites; this guide does not rank a route as universally cheapest or fastest.
