Minoh Park and waterfall
A waterfall and an autumn trail scene show the natural side of northern Osaka. Both photographs are from November 2025.
From Osaka’s main stations
Hankyu Osaka-umeda → Takarazuka Line → change at Ishibashi handai-mae → Minoo Line to Minoh → 40–50 min walk to the falls
Start at Hankyu Osaka-umeda, not the JR Osaka or Osaka Metro Umeda gates. From JR, walk following signs for Hankyu Railway; no transfer walking time is assumed. Take the Hankyu Takarazuka Line to Ishibashi handai-mae and change to the Minoo Line toward Minoh. The park gives approximately 40–50 minutes on foot from Minoh Station to the waterfall—not the approximately 5 minutes to the park entrance. Check current trail notices before visiting.

Check before setting off
The operator announced full Takimichi reopening on 7 August 2026. Temporary fencing narrows the fire-damaged section, and the waterfall-front rest house’s second floor remains closed. Recheck subsequent works and temporary restrictions before setting out.
On weekends and holidays from 14 November to 6 December 2026, 09:00–18:00, a designated section of Route 43 is uphill-only, including bicycles. This is a road restriction, not a full closure of Takimichi. Use public transport in the busy foliage season.
Both images were taken on 26 November 2025. Their red and yellow leaves do not guarantee this year’s foliage timing. This is a station-to-waterfall walk: allow time for the wooded approach and return, not just a brief stop at the falls.
Three things to look for
1 | Compare white water with dark rock
Minoh Falls has a 33 m drop. In the photograph, white water divides the dark rock face while leaves add color on the right. Keep the plunge pool in view to read both the fall and its spreading base.
2 | Notice the leaf canopy and human scale
In the path image, trace the bridge and railings through the foliage. The figures give a sense of being enclosed by trees. The bridge’s exact name has not been verified and is not assigned here.
3 | Make the approach part of the visit
The prefectural park lies within Meiji-no-Mori Minoh Quasi-National Park. Leave room to notice leaf shapes and riverside scenery from safe places, rather than treating the wooded approach only as a way to reach the falls.
Read the photograph & local culture
Compare the waterfall’s vertical line with the path’s sideways movement. Fire-related closures and recovery have affected the area; visible paths and rest facilities are not a current access report.
Minoh’s momiji tempura is a sweet leaf-shaped snack, not a savory tempura side dish. The tourism association describes a coating made with flour, sesame and sugar. It offers a local-food connection to a walk spent looking at leaves.
From a major station
Hankyu Osaka-umeda Station
Take the Hankyu Takarazuka Line to Ishibashi handai-mae, then change to the Minoh Line for its terminus, Minoh. This is not Minoh-kayano Station.
Walk from Minoh Station toward Takimichi. The operator estimates about 5 minutes to the park entrance at Ichinohashi; continue on foot toward the waterfall.
The official estimate from the station to the falls is about 40–50 minutes one way, not the total time for a return outing with stops or crowds.
Check train departures and connections separately. Plan to walk inside the park and check closure and weather updates immediately before visiting.
These are route segments, not a guaranteed total journey time. Travel-date departures, fares and current admission prices are not verified.
Nearby culture, food & rest stops
Optional stops, not guaranteed openings or a combined ticket.
Hisakuni Kōsendō
The shop’s own site places it about a minute along Takimichi from Minoh Station. Consider it for maple-leaf sweets before or after the walk; seating has not been verified.
Current hours and closure days were not established from the shop page. The tourism association warns of irregular closures and autumn sell-outs.
Before you go / what remains uncertain
Wear shoes suitable for wet paths and fallen leaves. Stay behind barriers and do not approach or feed monkeys. Tripod use may be restricted in busy periods. The foliage, flow and crowd level in the photos are not guaranteed.
Photographer permissions, exact viewpoints, current weather, temporary access and same-day availability are not independently established by these photographs.
