Flower fields by Jusan-tsukabaru Historic Park
Near Kagoshima Airport, a seasonal flower field sits among tea plantations and their frost-protection fans. Sunflowers are a summer sight, while autumn planting may bring cosmos. Stay on the visitor paths and leave working fields undisturbed.
Current visiting conditions
The sunflowers were photographed in July 2024, not during this visit. Working fields are private; use permitted paths and designated parking. The verified five-minute car route starts at Mizobe-Kagoshima Airport IC, not the airport terminal.

The flower fields in front of Jusan-tsukabaru Historic Park are in Saikoji, Hayato, Kirishima. Look beyond individual flowers to the surrounding tea fields and enjoy the wider agricultural landscape.
This photograph is a real sunflower photograph from 27 July 2024, with capture time checked against EXIF and the source record. It does not show November 2026 conditions or imply that these flowers remain through winter.
Three things to look for
1 | Flowers beneath a wide sky
Move your gaze from the flowers to the distant tea fields and sky. Try both a broad landscape view and a closer look at flowers from permitted viewing areas.
2 | Notice the tea-growing landscape
Fans rise above the tea fields in the photograph. This is a working agricultural landscape as well as a flower-viewing spot: stay out of planted rows and working access lanes.
3 | From a landscape to a cup of tea
If the landscape sparks an interest in tea, consider a separate café stop. The photograph does not imply that tea picking or a tea room is available at the flower field.
From a major station
Take an airport bus from Kagoshima-Chuo Station to Kagoshima Airport. The final journey to the flower field requires a separate arrangement.
Use Nangoku Kotsu’s boarding guide for airport services near Kagoshima-Chuo. It lists stand 1 at the Chuo Terminal Building. Check both the destination and boarding point rather than taking an arbitrary station-front bus.
Arrange the onward journey and return, for example with a taxi provider. The airport lists taxi and rental-car options, but this does not establish a flower-field fare, waiting service or same-day availability.
The prefectural tourism guide gives about five minutes by car from Mizobe-Kagoshima Airport Interchange—not from the airport terminal. It lists five free spaces at the historic park.
A direct field bus/stop, a safe airport walking route, total time and cost remain unverified. Editorial advice: do not fit this outing into a short pre-flight connection.
These are route segments, not a guaranteed total journey time. Travel-date departures, fares and current admission prices are not verified.

Toki KIRISHIMA tea café
Imayoshi Tea’s café in Mizobe Fumoto serves Kirishima tea, tea-based food and sweets. Operator-listed hours are 10:00–18:00, closing at 17:30 October–March. Lunch: 11:00–13:30; sweets: 13:30–17:00, ending 16:30 October–March. Closed Tuesdays, with additional temporary closures.
This is a separate journey, not an on-site café. Seating, reservation requirements, prices, language support and distance from the field are unverified. The prefectural listing gives Fumoto 3382-136 (information dated August 2024); do not confuse it with the company-footer address 3391.
Before you go / what remains uncertain
Separate seasonal guidance from today’s conditions
The prefectural guide’s usual windows are mid-July–mid-August for sunflowers and late October–early November for cosmos. Actual 2026 planting, blooms and viewing areas need checking; sunflowers are not promised for a November visit.
Small parking area, working farmland
Avoid obstructing farm work or vehicles and follow local access signs. Do not stop on the road for photographs when parking is full. Opening hours, viewing reservations, toilets and a low-step route were not established.
A possible order — editorial suggestion
Editorial suggestion: check flowers and round-trip transport → view the flowers and tea fields from permitted areas → travel separately for a tea break if open → return to the airport early. No fixed duration is assumed.
Still to verify for your date
