Miyazaki · Permanent cultural facility

Saitobaru Archaeological Museum of Miyazaki Prefecture

Connect the burial-mound landscape of Saitobaru with the history beneath it. Designated touchable stone tools and pottery make ancient daily life tangible through their weight, texture and patterns.

What to see

JR Miyazaki Station / Saito Bus Center → your visit

  1. Take a bus from Miyazaki Station to Saito Bus Center, about 70 minutes, then a taxi for about 10 minutes.
  2. The route via the museum was discontinued in October 2022; do not rely on older directions to a museum-front bus stop.
  3. By car, about 40 minutes from central Miyazaki or 10 minutes from Saito IC. Plan the return taxi as well.
