Hiroshima · Permanent cultural facility
Mazda Museum
Explore Hiroshima’s automotive industry through historic vehicles, engines, design and an assembly-line viewing area. Visitors travel from headquarters by dedicated bus, so plan this reservation-only museum as a roughly two-hour outing rather than a drop-in stop.
What to see
- Historic cars and engines tracing the company’s manufacturing story.
- Ten exhibition zones covering design, technology and future mobility.
- An assembly-area viewing section; the production line can be stopped for breaks or operational reasons.
JR Mukainada Station → your visit
- Walk about 5 minutes from the south exit to the first-floor lobby at Mazda headquarters, the meeting point.
- Arrive 15 minutes before the headquarters departure time, then travel to the museum by the dedicated bus.
Closures & important conditions
Normally closed Saturdays and Sundays, with company holidays and exceptional closures; public holidays follow the official calendar rather than a blanket closure rule. Announced closures: December 26, 2026–the morning of January 5, 2027, and February 8–26, 2027. Special Saturdays are scheduled for November 7 and December 5, 2026, and January 9 and March 20, 2027.
- On regular weekday tours, early departure is not possible because of controlled internal transport; leave room in your onward plans.
- Photography is prohibited in factory Zone 9 and on the grounds. Follow on-site guidance elsewhere.
- Company or weather circumstances may change opening. January 5, 2027 is closed in the morning, not the entire day.
