Yokote Masuda Manga Museum
Look beyond the printed page to the artist’s working drawings. Explore original manga artwork and its preservation, then browse the library. Permanent displays and paid special exhibitions are separate.
What to see
- Rotating selections of original manga artwork.
- The Manga Kura preservation displays and manga library.
JR Jumonji Station → your visit
- Take Ugo Kotsu’s Iwaigawa or Yokote–Oyasu route to Masuda Kura no Eki. The museum quotes about 5–10 minutes by bus.
- The city gives a ten-minute walk from the stop. Address: 285 Shinmachi, Masuda, Masuda-machi, Yokote, Akita. Check outbound and return bus times.
Closures & important conditions
Third Tuesday of the month, or the next weekday when it is a holiday. Closed December 31, 2026 and January 1, 2027; normal opening resumes January 2.
- Photography is normally prohibited in exhibition rooms. Follow posted rules in any areas where it is permitted.

Permanent displays are free. Special exhibitions have separate, exhibition-specific fees.
Buy same-day special-exhibition tickets at the machine beside reception, cash only. Groups of ten or more should contact the museum beforehand; workshops have separate conditions.
