Hokkaido · Permanent cultural facility
Asahikawa City Museum
Across the river from Asahikawa Station, two gallery levels explore Ainu history and culture alongside northern Hokkaido’s people and natural environment. Reconstructed homes and everyday objects make this an accessible indoor introduction to life in a region shaped by severe winters.
What to see
- Ainu cultural materials and reconstructed chise, pit dwelling and settler-soldier housing
- Kamikawa life and culture, with geology and landscape exhibits
JR Asahikawa Station South Exit → your visit
